What is Central Alberta Youth Unlimited? Central Alberta Youth Unlimited (CAYU) is a not-for-profit, non-government, Christian organization that builds meaningful, long-term connections with young people by meeting them where they are at. CAYU believes in every youth experiencing hope and wholeness in Christ through mentorship.

What is CAYU Apprenticeship? 
The Central Alberta Youth Unlimited Apprenticeship Program will assist youth as they prepare to launch into the workforce. It is our aim that every youth in Central Alberta be given the opportunity to succeed by growing and developing their skills in a supportive and highly relational environment.

What does the CAYU Apprenticeship Coordinator do?
The primary objective of the Apprenticeship Coordinator is to oversee the development and implementation of the Apprenticeship programs.  They ensure program quality and performance related to recruiting, screening, matching, and monitoring mentorship relationships. They seek to create different pathways for youth to experience job skills, leadership development, mentorship & discipleship. Seeing the potential in all youth, bringing hope and wholeness, while working collaboratively with the CAYU/YFC team. 

What must the person have to thrive in this position?
• Professionalism in verbal and written communication.
• Strong organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Leadership skills, especially in leading small groups of volunteers or youth.
• Passion for apprenticeship, leadership development, mentorship, discipleship, and evangelism.
• Ability to work on a team and independently, while being a highly efficient time manager.
• Ability to plan and coordinate meetings, small groups, and events.
• At least two years experience working with youth.
• Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills.

What are the working conditions?
• Administrative work at home, CAYU office, or coffee shop.
• Meeting youth and adults in coffee shops, schools, and other public places.
• Collaborating with other CAYU staff and volunteers.
• Developing and maintaining partnerships with individuals, schools, and community organizations.
• Occasional evening work, weekend work, day trips, and extended trips.
• Salary, expenses, and benefits (if applicable) are all raised by the applicant, with support and coaching from our ministry partnership coach.  

Time commitment: Part-time / Full-time, 20-40 hours per week.

Training: 2-year credentialing training, plus organization-wide and hands-on training, ongoing Supervision, and feedback.
